It is possible for you to:

  • Make diet and lifestyle changes to improve your fertility, pregnancy outcomes, postpartum well-being and breastmilk quality (and you don’t need to obsess over calories, macros or eating clean)

  • Have a healthy relationship with food and your body on your reproductive journey

  • Use nutrition as a support tool and stress less about everything you eat when trying to conceive, pregnant or lactating

  • You don't want to spend hours on Google or social media trying to figure out the "best" diet for fertility, PMOS or endometriosis.

Did you know that improving your nutrition before conception can significantly enhance both your health and your baby's?

By enhancing your nutrition before conception, you’re creating a nurturing environment for your baby’s development.

A balanced, nutrient-rich diet can help prevent birth defects, support fetal growth, and reduce the risk of pregnancy complications.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • In our initial consultation, we’ll spend 55 minutes together reviewing your health history, eating patterns, lifestyle, food preferences, and any relevant medical concerns, symptoms, allergies, sensitivities, or dietary restrictions. We’ll discuss your goals and begin creating realistic, sustainable strategies tailored to your unique needs and lifestyle, which may include collaborative meal and/or snack planning. Nutrition education and recommendations will be individualized and provided as appropriate throughout our work together.

Follow-up sessions are also 55 minutes and are designed to provide ongoing support, accountability, and guidance as you work toward your health and wellness goals. During these sessions, we’ll review progress, navigate challenges, adjust goals as needed, and continue building sustainable habits and routines over time.

All appointments are conveniently held via secure video chat, or by phone if preferred.

  • We generally meet at least every other week when we first start working together. Clients can work with Rachelle on either a short-term or long-term basis, though we recommend a minimum of 3 months for most individuals to allow time for meaningful progress and sustainable change. At the end of each session, we’ll discuss when it makes the most sense to schedule a follow-up based on your individual needs, goals, and progress.

For fertility clients looking for more ongoing guidance and support between sessions, an optional support add-on is also available for $97/month and includes access to our Fertility Foundations nutrition course, a customizable meal planner, and messaging support between visits.

  • We are in-network with BCBS PPO - please verify your benefits before booking an appointment.

For other insurance plans, we accept credit cards and HSA/FSA cards for payment. You may be able to get reimbursed for nutrition counseling services depending on your out-of-network insurance coverage. We can provide you with a receipt (“superbill”) after our sessions that you can submit to your insurance to seek reimbursement.

For rates, please click the drop down button under "Reproductive Nutrition Counseling" above.

If you have additional questions before booking, please fill out this application form and we will be in touch!

If you are in need of financial assistance for fertility treatment, consider applying for a grant with the Chicago Coalition for Family Building. Rachelle’s company The Food Therapist is a proud partner of CCFB and she donates nutrition counseling services to IVF cycle grant recipients.

  • Absolutely. Telehealth offers the flexibility to work with clients outside of the Chicagoland area; however state licensure and telehealth regulations for dietitians vary. Rachelle is a Registered Dietitian, which is a national certification, and she is licensed in Illinois, Missouri, Massachusetts and as a telehealth provider in Florida.

If you are located in another state and are interested in working together, please contact us as regulations vary by state and do change over time.

  • To respect everyone’s time, we require at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations or rescheduling. Sessions changed with less than 24 hours’ notice will be charged $100, as it’s difficult to fill the spot on short notice. We appreciate your understanding.
